For whom are BabyWODs intended?
The classes are aimed at those who are pregnant or have recently given birth, parents, and their children. You do not need to be a member of Routa or have previous experience of CrossFit training to participate in these guided classes. Babies and children are welcome to attend the classes – babies can lie down during the workout, or you can do the workout together with your child.
When can I attend the class?
There is no time limit for participating in classes after giving birth – you can come to class as soon as you feel ready! All movements in class are adapted to suit each individual. When you arrive at class, tell the coach about your situation so they can help you train safely.
Coach
The coach is Heidi Tuomaala, a physiotherapist specializing in this field, and a mother. Heidi graduated as a physiotherapist in 2014 and is a weightlifting instructor trained by the Finnish Weightlifting Federation. Heidi has also completed Pilates Instructor and Maternity Pilates Instructor training in 2024-2025. She started CrossFit in 2013. The best thing about the sport for Heidi is that even as an adult, you can learn new skills and challenge yourself. Nowadays, she doesn't learn new skills as often as when she started, but she gets to enjoy the feeling while coaching; the best thing is when a client figures out how to do something new.
Due to her own limitations, Heidi is used to adapting her workouts to suit herself, and she encourages her clients to do the same. Let's train smart and stay healthy!
Timetable for training sessions
- Monday 9:30–10:30 a.m. and 12:30–1:30 p.m.
- Wednesday 9:30 a.m.
In addition, on Wednesdays at 12:00 p.m., there is a MyPowerFix+Kids class, which you can also bring your children to. The class is a group Mobility/Accessory class. MPF specializes in active physical therapy that strengthens weak areas of the body. - Friday at 12:00–1:00 p.m.
Registering for a class
You can register for classes using the CrossFit Routa app. You can participate in classes with one-time payment, a 10x card, or a CrossFit Routa membership. More information about registering with one-time payment or a 10x card can be found below.
