Getting started with weightlifting

To start weightlifting (as a beginner) all you need to do is attend a class to get started.

Don't worry if you have no previous experience of the sport, as our coach will guide and instruct you during the class. The training starts according to the skill level of each lifter. After the first introductory session, you can continue training by purchasing the membership of your choice.

The class teaches the correct techniques for snatch and clean & jerk. In addition, we will go through a thorough review of the accessory movements, which will help you to better understand the mechanics of snatch and clean & jerk. Snatch, clean and jerk are versatile full-body movements. They develop overall strength, explosiveness and balance. These are all taught safely under the guidance of Miika and Sadia.

If you already have experience with weightlifting and want to check out our gym, you can purchase a single-visit weightlifting entry directly from our online store and sign up for a class using the CrossFit Routa app!
