CrossFit vocabulary
CrossFit is known for its many abbreviations. Here you can learn some of the most common ones.
AMRAP = As Many Reps (sometimes Rounds) as Possible
Benchmarking WOD = CrossFit workouts to compare to your prewious performances
Burgener warm up = Launched by Weightlifitng couch Mike Burgener, a warm up routine where you do weightlifting movements with a stick or a barbell.
BW (or BWT) = Body weight
C&J = Clean and jerk
DL = Deadlift
DU = Double-Under
GHD Situp = Situp done on the GHD bench
HSPU = Hand stand push up
KB = Kettlebell
K2E = Knees to elbows
OH Lunges = overhead lunges
MetCon = Metabolic Conditioning workout
MU = Muscle ups
OHS = Overhead squat
Pistol squat = pistols
PR = Personal record
PU = Pull-up
Rep = Repetition
Rx’d; as Rx’d: As prescribed = as written. WOD done without any adjustments.
SDHP = Sumo deadlift high pull
Thruster = front squat + push press as a unified movement
T2B = Toes to bar
WOD = Workout of the day
1RM = 1 rep max
